“Every day I help people and their dogs throughout the North and Central England to get back on the right track by providing effective and practical behaviour and training advice. I have extensive experience in military dogs, Gundogs, scenting and tracking dogs and general obedience from puppy to 8 year old dogs. I think out of the box and offer alternative training options to allow people to bond with their dogs to a greater depth. The problems I deal with are hugely varied, and include: aggression towards people; aggression towards dogs; fear, phobias and anxiety; training problems; barking; indoor toileting; destructive behaviours; inter-cat aggression; urine marking and spraying; repetitive behaviour; mouthing/biting; separation anxiety; pulling on the lead; jumping up; and antisocial behaviour.
With over 25 years’ experience in training all types of dogs I have clients that travel from Europe every year to consult with me. I have also competed at International level with working Golden Retrievers and have had considerable success with this breed. I am familiar and can train dogs to the following:-
- Gundogs to open field trail level
- Tracking dogs
- Scenting dogs
- Clicker training
I look forward to helping you and your dog”.
Dog Ramblers was established by Peter Hargreaves who has over 20 years’ experience of working with competition dogs. Peter has competed with his own dogs at an international level and he’s even been a preferred judged in international dog competitions. He has a great grasp of dog psychology and he takes a non-aggressive, calm and assertive approach to interacting with dogs of all breeds. Having recently sold his successful business Peter decided he wanted a total change of direction and set up a professional Dog Walking and Training business in Merseyside, Sefton and West Lancashire and surrounding areas.
All 1 to 1 Dog Training always begins in the clients home and from there we progress to nearby nature reserves or park allowing your dog more exposure to different environments
“We are a family business, with life long passion and love for dogs. My focus is always to improve your dog /owner relationship and empower you to get the most out of ‘your best friend’ and therefore live a very happy and fulfilled life together.
I have over 20 years’ experience in training all types of dogs in various disciplines… such as sniffer training, gundogs and obedience. I have also competed with my own dogs at the highest level nationally and internationally during these past 20 years.
My goal is to make our Dog Training school and other dog services the best that they can be. I fully appreciate and understand that your dog is a beloved member of your family, and you want the very best for them – and that’s the service level I strive to create.
Along with the more standard products I have also created a dog scenting, dog home help and residential dog training, plus my ever popular dog obedience training to get your pooch to obey your commands.
I personally attend different courses and seminars on a yearly basis, which keeps me up to date with the latest training techniques and methodologies. Understanding the psychology of dogs and the methods employed to train them have come a long way in recent years”

I am are proud of the fact that the majority of my customers come to me through recommendation from other happy customers who attended, or are still attending my 1-2-1 dog training classes, or are using my Dog Training , Dog Walking + Safari’s and Dog Boarding
Before starting the business, I did a lot of research into what dog owners like, love and also hate in training and other pet services. I have continued to take this pro-active approach to building my knowledge and offering the best service that I can. A service which fully meets my customer’s needs and expectations.
Because of this all my customers leave our training happy and amazed how quickly and how well their dog learned and improved.
We know how quickly dogs and humans lose interest when doing the same thing over and over again, so our job is to keep our sessions and activities interesting and entertaining, so everyone (including your dog) wants to come back for more.
When it comes to dog obedience training – it’s vital that we know how all of our customers feel, along with their level of confidence and knowledge, so that we can set our 1-2-1 training accordingly.
Is Your Dog Bored With Their Current Dog Walker?
Here at Dog Ramblers my motto is “A New Adventure Every day”. I aim to avoid the dog walkers trudge. Let me tell you why…
As long term professional local dog walkers I have witnessed a lot of the good and bad of other local dog walking companies. When I came up with the concept of ‘The Dog Rambler’ it was my aim as a local dog walker to offer a different type of dog walking service altogether.
So what I do mean by the trudge? Many (but, by all means, not all) local dog walkers either out of convenience, for economical reasons or just because they can’t be bothered…. go to the same dog walking spot day after day! I have witnessed it time and time again – the same dog walker trudging around the same field/park with a pack of totally bored looking dogs trudging behind them.
As dog walkers it incensed me not only to see bored dogs getting little exercise, but also knowing full well that owners could be getting so much more value for money. There is no excuse for your dog to be walked around the same place every day. So I say no more to the trudge.
Your dog deserves more and with Dog Ramblers they get it. I walk different places daily and I interact with the gang, not just trudge them around the same place.
Here is an example of a dog I now take out with Dog Ramblers. I had previously seen this dog (identity hidden) being trudged around a local field by a local dog walker. The owners called me and gave the Dog Rambler a trial and they have never looked back. Simply put, they know their dog is much happier now and comes home worn out after a trip with the Dog Rambler.
I am seriously happy if you just want to try out the Dog Rambler for one day to see if there is any difference (even if you have an existing dog walker). BUT… please remember places are limited, I want each dog to have quality time with the Dog Rambler – so call now to discuss a day out.
